Oba: The Last Samurai (2011)

Oba: The Last Samurai is a Japanese movie directed by Hideyuki Hirayama and based on an autobiographical novel co-written by former U.S. soldier Don Jones and former Japanese solider Sakae Oba. It was released by Toho in Japan on February 11, 2011.

In 1944, as the Pacific War is close to ending, Imperial Japanese Army Captain Sakae Oba (Yutaka Takenouchi) teams up with commando Horiuchi (Toshiaki Karasawa) and utilizes guerrilla tactics to hold off invading US forces on Saipan numbering over 45,000.

With only 47 infantry troops left at his command, Oba manages to confound enemy forces for far longer than should be possible.
