Ryoko Shinohara is a Japanese singer and actress. She was born on August 13, 1973 in Kiryu, Gunma prefecture.
Shinohara first gained notoriety for singing the theme to the 1994 anime Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, which produced a single that sold over 2 million copies. Since then she has concentrated more on her acting career and has been steadily gaining popularity in in Japan for her film roles and television appearances.
In a recent Oricon survey Shinohara was picked by readers as being the actress with the coolest image in regards to her acting roles. On December 8, 2005, Shinohara married voice actor Masachika Ichimura, who is 24 years her senior.
Her nicknames include Ryoko (涼子), Ryo-tan (りょうたん), and Shino-Ryo (篠涼).
