Shoujyo: An Adolescent is a Japanese movie directed by Eiji Okuda and based on a short story by Mikihiko Renjo. It was released by Progressive Pictures in Osaka on September 22, 2001.
Okuda stars as a thuggish small-town cop named Tomokawa who spends his days sleeping with lonely housewives and belittling his mentally disabled friend Sukemasa (Akira Shoji).
When he’s propositioned by a 15-year-old girl named Yoko who’s involved in the paid dating trade, he doesn’t hesitate to sleep with her and the two end up falling in love.
Soon, he discovers they have more in common than he ever would have thought. She’s not only Sukemasa’s younger sister, but the daughter of his cruel former lover and the granddaughter of the lecherous man who gave him his own tattoos years earlier.
Not particularly impressed with their family makeup, Tomokawa decides to take it upon himself to protect both Sukemasa and his young lover from their dysfunctional home life.
