The Accidental Kidnapper (2010)

The Accidental Kidnapper is a Japanese movie.directed by Hideo Sakaki. It’s based on a 2004 novel by Hiroshi Ogiwara and was released by Kadowkawa Pictures on April 3, 2010. It was originally slated for release in December 2009, but had to be delayed to remove all scenes involving actor Manabu Oshio due to his involvement in a drug scandal.

Katsunori Takahashi stars as Hideoyoshi Date, a down-and-out ex-con with no money, no girlfriend, and no life. One day he decides to kidnap a rich boy (Roi Hayashi) in the hopes of a quick reversal of fortune, but realizes too late that the boy’s father earned his money as a yakuza boss. Now being chased by both the yakuza and the police, Hideyoshi and the boy he kidnapped strike up an unlikely friendship.
