Toshiaki Toyoda

Toshiaki Toyoda is a Japanese filmmaker. He was born on March 10, 1969 in Higashiosaka, Osaka Prefecture. He made his directorial debut in 1998 with “Tokyo Rampage”, aka ‘’‘Pornostar’‘’. To date he has always been heavily involved in the writing process of the movies he’s directed, and often the sole writer.

On August 24, 2005, Toyoda was arrested for possession of banned stimulants. He received a 3-year suspended sentence for the crime, which could have carried a 2-year prison term. In 2009, he made his return to directing with the film “Yomigaeri no Chi”.
