Villain (2010)

Villain is an Japanese movie directed by Sang-il Lee and based on a serialized crime story by Shuichi Yoshida which was later published as a novel. It was released by Toho in Japan on September 11, 2010.

The film stars Satoshi Tsumabuki and Eri Fukatsu as Yuichi and Mitsuyo, two lonely people who meet through an online dating site and quickly fall in love. However, Yuichi is hiding the fact that he is the true killer of a girl whose murder has been all over the news for days, even though police suspect a rich college student (Masaki Okada). When Yuichi decides to turn himself in, Mitsuyo stops him, unable to let go of the first love she’s known in years. The two lovers go on the run, ruining the lives of the victim’s family and everyone involved in the case for the sake of love.

But more questions remain between them: why did Yuichi kill that girl, and why is Mitsuyo so willing to sacrifice everything for her love of an admitted murderer?
