Yuya Ishii

Yuya Ishii is a Japanese filmmaker. He was born on June 21, 1983 in Saitama Prefecture.

Ishii studied film at Osaka University of Arts and made the film “Bare-assed Japan” as his graduate film. It went on to win the Grand Prix of the Pia Film Festival in 2007, which inspired him to continue making several more feature films in rapid succession.

He married actress Hikari Mitsushima on October 25, 2010.
