Zebraman (2004)

Zebraman is a 2004 Japanese movie written by Kankuro Kudo and directed by Takashi Miike. It premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on January 30, 2004 and was released by Toei in Japan on February 14, 2004.

The film stars Show Aikawa as Shinichi, a man who spent his childhood obsessed with a science fiction television show about a super hero called Zebraman who defended earth against strange creatures in the year 2010. As an adult, Shinichi creates his own zebra suit to recapture the wonderment of his youth and inject some excitement into his otherwise boring life as a teacher and family man. However, he has no idea that 2010 really will mark an alien invasion and he’ll be the only one prepared to stop them as his beloved alter-ego, Zebraman.
