Akira Kurosawa

Akira Kurosawa (黒澤明 / KUROSAWA Akira) was an prolific Japanese filmmaker. He was born on March 23, 1910 in Shinagawa, Tokyo and died on September 6, 1998. Over the span of his 50-year career, he garnered international acclaim and a plethora of awards, including a special Academy Award in 1990 “For cinematic accomplishments that have inspired, delighted, enriched and entertained worldwide audiences and influenced filmmakers throughout the world.”
