Aya Sugimoto (杉本彩 / SUGIMOTO Aya) is a Japanese actress, writer, dancer, and former Jpop idol. She was born on July 19, 1968 in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto. In July of 2003 she divorced her husband and famously claimed that there was not enough sex in their marriage. Her blunt explanation caused the idea of a “sexless divorce” to spread quickly among sexually-frustrated Japanese wives.
