Koki Mitani

Koki Mitani (三谷幸喜 / MITANI Koki) is a Japanese director, actor, and playwright. He was born on July 8, 1961 in Setagaya, Tokyo. His wife is actress Satomi Kobayashi.

Born in the heyday of sumo wrestling, he was named Koki after the 48th Yokozuna, Taihō Kōki (大鵬幸喜), who was generally regarded as the greatest sumo wrestler of the post-war era.
