Viz Pictures is a US distribution company which focuses on the theatrical and DVD releases of Japanese movies, usually focusing on live-action manga adaptations, light-hearted comedies, and pop culture fare. It is an affiliate of Viz Media, LLC, a San Francisco-based distributor of manga and anime. Viz Media is in turn jointly-owned by Japanese publishers Shogakukan and Shueisha.
