Yoji Yamada

Yoji Yamada (山田洋次 / YAMADA Yoji) is a veteran Japanese film director. He was born on September 13, 1931 in Toyonaka, Osaka prefecture and grew up in Manchuria.

Yamada is best known for the long-running Tora-san and Tsuribaka Nisshi film series as well as a string of well-received jidaigeki films released over the past decade.
