Yuya Yagira (柳楽優弥 / YAGIRA Yuya) is a Japanese actor. He was born on March 26, 1990 in Higashiyamato-ku, Tokyo. He is currently represented by Stardust Promotion.

In 2005, Yagira won the award for Best Actor at the 57th Cannes Film Festival for his role of Akira Fukushima in Hirokazu Kore-eda‘s 2004 film “Nobody Knows”. At only 15, he was the youngest ever recipient of the award.

On April 25, 2008, Yagira was hospitalized for what was reported as a drug overdose and possible suicide attempt. However, he later issued a statement explaining that he simply felt ill after taking prescribed tranquilizers and called for the ambulance himself.
