An aging novelist named Kikuji (Etsushi Toyokawa) meets housewife Fuyuka (Shinobu Terajima) and the two engage in an illicit affair, both experiencing love like they never have before. One morning while in the throes of passion he strangles her to death at her request. The film starts with his capture for the murder and throughout his court trial we see moments from their love affair through scattered flashbacks.

@yobgol Most DVDs are interlaced to look better on older TVs. It does seem a bit tougher for PC players to deinterlace Viz releases though (Thu. 4:47pm)
