Plot: Courtroom sketch artist Kanao (Lily Franky) has a front-row seat to the trials of some of the most notorious criminals in Japan—each seeming to get more public and scandalous than the last. However, his mind often drifts back to his private life and his wife, Shoko (Tae Kimura). After their baby daughter dies, perfectionist Shoko is guilt-ridden and pushed to the brink of nervous breakdown. Yet they somehow manage to grow closer over the years, as Kanao’s laid back demeanor balances against Shoko’s tendency to become emotionally overwrought.
