In this sequel to Death Note, a television star named Misa is rescued from a stalker as a new death note falls from the sky. Misa is infatuated with Kira and takes up his work, utilizing her death note to execute criminals. She even gives up half of her remaining life for the added ability to see people’s names simply by looking at them, a skill she uses to murder anyone who publicly opposes Kira’s methods. When Light, the real Kira, learns of this he decides he can make use of her. He attempts to exploit Misa’s “death god eyes” but she soon becomes a liability as L slowly begins to unravel the mystery of the two Kiras.
