Soichi Negishi (Kenichi Matsuyama) moves to Tokyo to pursue his dream of playing Swedish-style pop music. However, he becomes the lead singer of the death metal band Detroit Metal City. Going by the moniker Johannes Krauser II, he dons an over-the-top metal costume and full facial makeup to play his role. And even though he secretly despises his heavy metal double life, he proves to be really, really good at it.
