I’m not entirely clear on the origin of this 15-second preview for the upcoming live-action adaptation of GANTZ, but there is an NTV logo on it, so let’s go with that. It’s not much, but at least we get a mostly-blocked glimpse of the two main characters in their suits.
Director Shinsuke Sato is in the midst of making 2 live-action movies based on Hiroya Oku’s long-running manga about two students who die in a train accident only to be brought back to life by a mysterious black sphere called GANTZ. The pair, played by Kazunari Ninomiya of the pop group Arashi and actor Kenichi Matsuyama, receive enhancement suits which give them the superhuman abilities needed to complete a series of alien assassination missions. Through these missions they earn “points” toward buying their own freedom, but various incidents complicate matters along the way.
Toho has the first film tentatively slated for nation-wide release in early 2011 and the second will follow in the spring.

I was a big fan of the Anime, so I’m definitely interested in this. No other promo shots yet though?
