Former assistant cinematographer Satoko Yokohama directs this quirky film centering on two teenagers named Yoshiko (Yoshimi Nozaki) and Maki (Suzune Fujioka). Yoshiko is a bit of a recluse who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and generally make a fool of herself in front of most of the people she meets. She also has an artistic side, writing music in her spare time and teaching children to play the recorder. Maki is a relatively normal but likes Yoshiko for her creative spirit and together they tend to balance each other out. One day Yoshiko meets a German boy at her part-time landscaping job and they share a common bond due to their similar feelings of alienation.
