Trailer - Ikemen Bank: The Movie

With all the Japanese romantic dramas based on books, manga, and mobile phone novels, it’s kind of difficult to break free of the traditional creative pipeline. It’s safe to say writer/director Kotaro Terauchi has done just that with his upcoming movie, “Ikemen Bank”, albeit in the most bizarre way possible. A few months ago, Bandai came out with a new type of piggy bank for girls shaped like a heart with a little LCD screen on the front. As money is added to the bank, various pictures of “ikemen” (handsome, cool guys) pop up on the screen and dole out compliments or ask for a kiss. In keeping with this general theme, Terauchi puts a girl named Yuri Yamamura (Haru) at the center of a love triangle—or more accurately, a love hexagon—in which 5 good looking guys become infatuated with her. The guys in question are played by Kotaro Yanagi, Yoshikazu Kotani, Koichiro Nishi, Yukihiro Takiguchi, and newly-added D-BOYS member Yusuke Yamada.
