Trailer - Battle League HORUMO (Kamogawa Horumo) [English-subtitled]
The first two teasers really didn’t do this one justice. The full trailer is now out, and should help talk down anyone who was afraid the all-star cast involved would be wasted on an insipid kid flick. Chiaki Kuriyama as a total dweeb? Yoshiyoshi Arakawa yelling stuff? I’m in!
Plot: A club of Kyoto University students called “Kyoto University Azure Dragons” play an ancient game called “Horumo” in which they control spirits known as “oni” and pit them against the oni of rival teams. Freshman Akira Abe (Takayuki Yamada) falls in love with a classmate named Kyoko (Sei Ashina), and blindly joins the club to be closer to her. Takuya Ishida plays Abe’s main rival.
