Tired of feeling self-conscious about her looks since she was a small child, Kanna Kannazuki (Yu Yamada) blows her entire life’s savings on a complete plastic surgery overhaul. She gets a job at Kameido Shokai clothing company, in part to be closer to her dream guy: man that was once nice to her before her surgery, Kosuke Rendaiji (Akira Nagata). She’s not quite used to being beautiful yet, though. And she soon falls back into her old habits. However, she decides to take her cues from a naturally beautiful girl named Nanako Sumida (Aoi Nakabeppu), and things start to go her way. Just by chance, she re-meets a former co-worker named Kabako (Shizuyo Yamazaki) who becomes her new best friend. And she even gets promoted to project leader of the new brand Kameido Shokai will soon be launching. However, a certain person shows up that could bring her beauty secret to light.

Based on the same Yumiko Suzuki manga that inspired the 2006 hit Korean comedy “200 Pounds Beauty”. “Kanna’s Big Success!” is due out in Japan on January 17, 2009.

plot-wise? or Yu Yamada herself? sometimes the line between exotic and tranny gets blurred

so basically, it’s the japanese 200 pounds of beauty.

I’m so looking forward to seeing this film. 200 pounds beauty was great. I loved Yamazaki Shizuyo in ‘Lovely Complex’. I wish she could have had a bigger part. When u did see her she was hilarious. I’m going to get ‘Hula Girls’ just to see her in it. Ill get this film for the same reason.
