A 15-second TV spot has been added to the official website for Kotaro Terauchi’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Maria Watches Over Us.
Based on Oyuki Konno’s series of light novels, the film is set in a catholic school for girls called Lillian Academy where older students take an interest in mentoring younger girls. Specifically, they participate in a system in which they form a sisterly relationship by passing on their rosary to a specific girl with the promise of offering them guidance. Yumi Fukuzawa (Honoka Miki) is an ordinary first-year student at Lillian who has a chance encounter with a dignified older girl named Sachiko Ogasawara (Haru) which eventually leads to her accepting Ogasawara’s rosary.
Jolly Roger will be releasing “Maria-sama ga Miteru” in Japan on November 6, 2010.
