Trailer - Nakumonka

Here’s the full trailer for Nakumonka, the second collaboration between Nobuo Mizuta and screenwriter Kankuro Kudo—the first being 2007’s Maiko Haaan!!!.

Plot: Abandoned by their father at a young age, brothers Yuta (Sadao Abe) and Yusuke (Eita) are separated, but each grow up determined not to let their father’s rejection make them cry. Yuta is raised by a restaurant owner and spends his time to hyperactively running errands for the people in his neighborhood hoping to gain their acceptance. Meanwhile, Yusuke is one half of a manzai comedy duo who owe their fame to marketing themselves as brothers even though they’re not actually related. When Yuta finds out about Yusuke, he desperately wants to reconnect with his brother, but Yusuke initially rejects him fearing his secret will be exposed. Yuko Takeuchi also stars as Tetsuko, a former ugly duckling who returns after a 10-year absence looking completely different.

Toho will be releasing Nakumonka in Japan on November 14, 2009.
