Here’s the trailer for Akira Ogata‘s Nonchan Noriben, which is based on a Kiwa Irie manga which also inspired a 2-season TBS drama in the late 90s. Thanks to logboy for spotting it.
Plot: Komaki (Manami Konishi) is a 31-year-old woman who was born and raised in an old fashioned area of town. Fed up with her useless husband, she leaves him and moves back in with her parents, taking her daughter (Rio Sasaki) along with her. She tries to find work so as not to be a burden on her parents, but her junior college education doesn’t qualify her for much. Even when she finally does find a part-time job, she’s quickly fired. She begins getting depressed about her situation, but when she goes to a pub and tries a dish with mackerel simmered in miso she’s inspired to learn from the man who cooked it (Ittoku Kishibe).
Movie Eye and Kino Films will be releasing Nonchan Noriben in Japan on September 26, 2009.

i got excited there for a moment! thought this was a new trailer for Nonko 36-sai, which i’m looking forward to ordering on dvd (6/21, yesasia). Loved the eerie mood of Green Mind, Metal Bats. Hey, wait, i’m way off subject - Nonchan Noriben looks charming!
