This is technically the second trailer for Isao Yukisada’s Parade, but the first one was more of a round-table discussion with the cast. This one, recently released via Yahoo! Eiga, is the real trailer.
The story revolves around a group of four people who live together in a small 2-bedroom apartment in Tokyo, though they’re not romantically linked and don’t know much about each other’s lives in general. Naoki (Tatsuya Fujiwara) is a film company employee, Mirai (Karina) is an illustrator, Kotomi (Shihori Kanjiya) is an aspiring actress who takes on part-time work on her free days, and Ryosuke (Keisuke Koide) is a university student.
One day a male prostitute named Satoru (Kento Hayashi) enters the picture, and because the roommates lead such insular lives, it takes a full day for them to realize that he’s an uninvited guest and isn’t actually connected to any of them. Meanwhile, a series of violent assaults and murders begin occurring in the area and a ripple of uncertainty begins to spread, disrupting each of their daily routines.
“Parade” is distributed by Showgate and will be released in Japan in February 2010.
