The production companies behind 2006’s Kamome Diner and 2007’s Megane have reunited for a new movie called Pool, starring Satomi Kobayashi, Ryo Kase, Kana, and Masako Motai. Mika Omori, probably best known for her screenwriting of movies like Detroit Metal City and several award-winning episodes of the TV drama “My Boss, My Hero”, directed. Filming took place back in February in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Kobayashi, who also starred in the aforementioned Kamome Diner and Megane plays a mother who’s living apart from her daughter (played by fashion model Kana). That’s pretty much all we know at this point as far as plot details go. Stay tuned.
Distributor Suurkiitos will be releasing Pool in September of 2009 at Cine Switch Ginza and Shinjuku Piccadilly.
