Teaser - Railways

A teaser has been added to the official website for Yoshinari Nishikoori’s Railways, the third film in the director’s Shimane prefecture-based trilogy. The film previously went by the working title “Bataden”, the nickname of Ichibata Railways’ classic yellow train (Ichibata Densha) until it was officially announced under the new title on July 29, 2009.

Kiichi Nakai stars as Hajime Tsutsui, a 49-year-old whose mother is stricken with illness, causing him to reflect on how he’s lived his own life. Because of this, he decides to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a train driver.

“Railways” will be released by Shochiku in May 2010.
