A new trailer has been released for Tetsu Maeda‘s Saru Lock: The Movie, a theatrical contrinuation of the NTV drama which wrapped up its 13-episode run on October 15th.
Saru Lock is based on a Naoki Serizawa manga and stars the ever-twitchy Hayato Ichihara as a gravure magazine-obsessed teenager named Sarumaru who works at his father’s locksmithing business and routinely uses his lock-picking skills on a series of adventures.
In the film, Sarumaru is hired by a beautiful woman named Mayumi (Manami Higa) to open a vault. Once he manages to get in, they find a mysterious suitcase inside which contains money stolen from a bank—a detail Mayumi conveniently left out when describing the job. As it turns out, the suitcase also holds a secret that could have far-reaching implications for the police and undermine their authority. Soon, Saru and Mayumi are being hunted from all sides as the bank robbers attempt to recover their score and the police try to keep their secret from getting out.
“Saru Lock: The Movie” will be released in Japan on February 27, 2010.
