Sakichi Sato, screenwriter of demented cult classics Gozu and Ichi the Killer brings together four like-minded directors to create a short film compilation of surreal comedy. Ryuichi Honda brings us “The Reason She Sings”, a story about a naked woman who shows up in the Golden-gai bar district of Shinjuku. Noboru Iguchi directs “Granny Kiss”, an uncomfortable exploration of old lady love. Yusaku Hanakuma, original writer of the manga Tokyo Zombie was based on, directs and stars in his own surreal remake of that film. And finally, Tetsuya Mariko directs “Easy Money” - a self-documentary about the emotional rollercoaster caused by spending a 100,000,000 yen film budget on lottery tickets.

yeah, i like pretty much everything Sakichi Sato does but it seems like an odd marketing decision to focus everything on him when the actual short films are so interesting themselves. even the poster makes it seem like it’s all about him
