Here’s the trailer for the first of two “Sukeban Hunters” movies. The project was first announced as a trilogy of movies based on the 17-minute Yakuza Hunter short film which was included as a bonus feature on the 893239 (aka Yakuza Niju-Sanku) DVD box set. During production, the films were referred to as Yakuza Hunter, Yakuza Hunter 2, and Yakuza Hunter 3, but since the name change it seems to be down to two movies called “Sukeban Hunters: Soukatsu Nagurikomi Sakusen” and “Sukeban Hunters: Jigoku no Kettou” directed by Kazufumi Nakahira and Shinichi Okuda, respectively.

The first film features AV star Asami (Sukeban Boy, The Machine Girl) as the main “hunter” with her rival played by perma-grumpy Rena Komine. Can’t find a proper description yet, but it’s obviously drawn significant inspiration from Toei’s classic Girl Boss series created by Norifumi Suzuki in the early 1970s.

According to the trailer’s YouTube description, they’ill both be out in Japan this summer.
