Here’s the first teaser for Hitoshi Matsumoto‘s “Symbol”. Unfortunately the project is still pretty mysterious and not much is known yet other than what little Shochiku has announced so far. Like Matsumoto’s first film, Big Man Japan, the script was co-written by Mitsuyoshi Takasu. Symbol is multi-lingual, involves a lot of foreign extras, and will be released in Japan on September 12, 2009. Matsumoto is the only official cast member listed so far, but it’s not clear if the rest of the cast just hasn’t been announced yet or if he spends the entire movie acting opposite extras and CGI cherubs.
