Here’s the first teaser for Yuri Kanchiku’s Tenshi no Koi (literally “Angel of Love”), a live-action adaptation of a popular mobile phone novel published last year. As Tokyograph reported back in June, the film stars 21-year-old model Nozomi Sasaki stars as a high school girl with a traumatic past who falls in love with a 35-year-old university lecturer played by Shosuke Tanihara. In a not-so-shocking plot twist, his character is soon diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Whoever edited this teaser gets the award for the most jarring shift from happy to sappy. Kudos!

Distributor Gaga Communications will be releasing “Tenshi no Koi” in Japan on November 7, 2009.
