Trailer - The Rebirth of Buddha (Buddha Saitan)

A trailer, commercial, and music video have been uploaded to the official YouTube channel for religious group Happy Science’s new animated film “The Rebirth of Buddha”.

As ANN reported in August, the film is an adaption of a book by the group’s founder, Ryuho Okawa, which illustrates their belief that Buddha will return one day “when the world sinks into darkness”.

The story itself involves an elite journalist’s sudden suicide in the wake of a false report on a corruption scandal and the subsequent spiritual awakening of a high school girl who idolized her.

“The Rebirth of Buddha” is slated for release in Japan on October 17, 2009.
