The trailer for Takashi Shimizu‘s upcoming 3D horror project, The Shock Labyrinth, was originally uploaded to YouTube by distributor Asmik Ace Entertainment a few weeks ago, but a higher quality version has recently been added to the film’s official website.

Inspired by the popular “Senritsu Meikyu” haunted house attraction at Fuji-Q High Land located near Mt. Fuji, the plot involves the mysterious disappearance of a girl named Yuki and her sudden return 10 years later. Her friends Ken, Hajime, Rin, as well as her sister Miyu are confused, but happy to finally see her again. Later that night, Yuki suddenly faints and they try to bring her to the hospital. When they arrive, they find the hospital building itself is actually a strange, mystical labyrinth. The film was primarily shot on location at Senritsu Meikyu and will be released in Japan on October 17, 2009.
