Detective Kaoru Utsumi (Kou Shibasaki) teams up with a brilliant physicist nicknamed "Galileo", Manabu Yukawa (Masaharu Fukuyama) to figure out a mysterious murder. Galileo ends up in a game of cat and mouse with fellow genius and high school math teacher Tetsuya Ishigami (Shinichi Tsutsumi), who has a special reason for wanting to cover up the true perpetrator of the crime.
