Teaser - Zero Focus (Zero no Shoten)

Here’s the first teaser for Isshin Inudo’s “Zero Focus”, the second film adaptation of Seicho Matsumoto’s whodunit mystery novel which was original published serially in Kobunsha’s now-defunct Hoseki magazine from March 1958 to January 1960.

Ryoko Hirosue plays Teiko, a newlywed who’s investigating the disappearance of her husband, Kenichi (Hidetoshi Nishijima), after he fails to return from a business trip. As she unravels the mystery surrounding his disappearance she uncovers evidence that he may have been living a complicated double life before they met. She pursues several leads after the police give up on the case, but with each new detail learned that doesn’t fit her current theory she’s forced to formulate an entirely new one from scratch.

Distributor Toho will be releasing the film in Japan on November 14, 2009.
